Head of Sector

Reporting to the Head of Unit, the Head of Sector is responsible for:  Managing the tasks entrusted to Frontex, to the Unit and the sector concerned in the area of situation monitoring or risk analysis and related activities, in full compliance with European Border and Coast Guard Regulation;  Supervising, developing and directing operational aspects of the Sector concerned;  Assisting, advising and supporting the Head of Unit, the Director of Division, the Executive Director, the DEDs and DoDs in implementing Frontex mandate in the respective areas of responsibility;  Contributing to the development of the Frontex Programming documents;  Implementing the Unit’s work programme in the Sector concerned, adjusting the activity and capacity levels wherever deemed necessary and ensuring the overall coherence of the work;  Managing the human and financial resources of the Sector, coordinating the respective teams, leading, engaging and developing the competencies of the personnel and assessing individual performance;  Identifying the budget required for the Sector’s activities according to activity based budgeting principles while ensuring the sound financial management of the Sector and the effective implementation of and reporting on its budget;  Facilitating cooperation and interactions with internal and external stakeholders;  Actively contributing to change management, incl. the divisional transformation programme, and the embodiment of the Frontex identity through its corporate values.
