Context
Through this assignment, online volunteers will support the communications team in UNDP IRH by producing social media posts, proofreading, and copy-editing communication written materials. As someone outside the organisation, the individual volunteers help maintain UNDP Eurasia public postings are precise, jargon/acronym free, and easily understandable to a general public audience. The support will improve the visibility of our work in the Europe and Central Asia region and beyond.
Task description
We are looking for Online Volunteers who under the guidance of the Regional Communications Officer, support us by copy editing and producing English social media content. While volunteers should produce or provide constructive feedback and suggestions on the style, tone, flow and coherence of documents, the UNDP IRH assumes full responsibility for the approval of the content's final version. Consultations will be by email, including feedback iterations and on a deadline for finalizing the communication written materials. Online Volunteers will take up to 5 - 15 documents or assignments during the 12-week period, depending on requests. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to draft, proofread or edit a short amount of text for: - social media posts - written blogs - video scripts - or stories The written materials should follow UNDP's editorial manual which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance.
