EDUCATION

A first level degree from an university or from an institution of equivalent status is required.
A Master’s degree and above is desirable.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This advert aims at creating roster of candidates to serve Interpreter/Translator on part time basis with WFP country office in all duty stations in Madagascar depending on the candidate interest and availability.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

 

  • Provides interpretation from English to Malagasy and vice versa.
  •  Provides interpretation from English to French, and vice versa.
  • Provides interpretation from Malagasy to French and vice versa
  • Translates, documents including summary records covering a broad range of subjects as required
  • May perform other related duties as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least three (3) years of professional interpreting experience in international organizations or as freelancer is required.

Experience within the United Nations Common System is desirable.

LANGUAGES

Perfect command of French, English and Malagasy is required.
