POSITION: Project Coordinator

LOCATION: Darjeeling District, Preferably Siliguri, West Bengal

REPORTS TO: The, Director

About Organization:

Darjeeling Mary Ward Social Centre- DMWSC a development wing of Loreto Sisters working in North Bengal established in 2006, registered under West Bengal Societies Registration Act in 2009. DMWSC social development issues focussing on women and child protection, livelihood and sustainable development, legal awareness and skill development.

DMWSC is looking for a Female Candidate for its Collective Voice Project, preferably having knowledge of working in tea gardens areas or have any ideas or experience of any such.

Job Summary:

- Contribute to the annual activity and procurement work plans as well as budgets based on expected yearend outputs. Ensure close monitoring of activities and disbursements under the assigned project component.
- Be responsible for the coordination of the assigned component work plan according to indicators for achieving planned results, as well as for the overall management of the component in accordance to prevailing DMWSC rules, regulations and procedures.
- Manage project development and formulation. Coordinate the design, planning and monitoring of sub-projects.
- To develop project-based MIS.
- To conduct field visits for monitoring and MIS verification
- Ensure the quality of concept papers, terms of references, proposal outlines and agreements in close cooperation with the project team and recipients.
- Ensure and coordinate the timely submission of financial and activity reports covering the assigned component of the project, to be incorporated in the overall project financial and narrative report
- Write projects proposals for government and corporate funding. To build new collaborations and partnerships to raise revenue.
- To provide on-site management of project staff at field level to ensure daily operations are achieved successfully.
- To manage programme budget and tracking of all program budget expenditures and reporting to Director
- To Coordinate with different agencies and stakeholders to conduct training, events with District, State level
- Review and analyse weekly, monthly, quarterly reports to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation and to enhance quality of reporting.
To fulfil all other duties assigned by the Director vital to the function of the organization by the Director.


1) Good level of proficiency in MS Office (Windows, Excel, Power-point and Internet)
2) Ability to design M&E tools, surveys, surveillance systems, and evaluations
3) Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others.
4) Strong interpersonal skills and multi-tasking.

EDUCATION & work experience:-

• The Candidate must have Master’s in Social Work/Sociology/Rural Development/Human Rights/ Social Sciences.
• At least 1-2 years of experience of handling development projects in State and national level NGOs.
• Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and Documentation of records

Compensation: INR 1, 80,000 Per Annum, can be negotiable as per experience and qualification (Project related travelling bills are on actual basis & Mobile Recharge will be done from the office)
