To support this mission, WFP Fleet Centre (FC) in Dubai is mandated to centrally set the global standards for and manage the light and Armoured vehicle leasing operations to enable effective, safe and efficient fleets in all WFP offices. The vehicle leasing & insurance service is complemented by world-class expertise and technical assistance in fleet management, fleet systems support, disposal, and driver and fleet management training. In addition, having one of the largest humanitarian light vehicle fleets, WFP is also spearheading collaboration efforts within the wider UN System to facilitate UN agency access to more effective and safer vehicles and to realize efficiency gains.

 

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

 

The Consultant will be working with Fleet Center Units to define and document business requirements for data analysis and reporting. The incumbent will also be required to come up with reporting solutions designed to present FMS (Fleet Management System), VTS (Vehicle Tracking System) and FC Portal data in ways that help relevant stakeholders make better decisions at both an operational and strategic level. The BI specialist also ensures the implementation of the reporting using WFP corporate tools, i.e. Tableau and Dots.

This position is suited for a good team player who can work independently, is impeccably organized, with strong data analysis skills.

 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of Head of FMSS, Fleet Centre, the consultant will have the following responsibilities:

 

  1. Analyze and verify existing data-collecting and analytics systems
  2. Analyze data, research data sources, and make corrections to existing data as needed to ensure accuracy
  3. Implement data analysis methodologies defining, together with the team, measurable goals and KPIs
  4. Identify, examine, and process raw data, trends, analysis, and assessments to aggregate disparate information
  5. Ensure that relevant teams and individuals are consulted and involved in decision making at key points and that all decisions made are clearly documented and communicated
  6. Apply agile development of new visualizations in Tableau dashboards that support large data sets and analytics methodologies
  7. Enhance data analysis and delivery of a series of business intelligence dashboards and reports for different audiences informing them on dimensions identified as relevant for them with pertinent KPIs.
  8. Maintain, evaluate, and adapt visualizations for effective use and broad understanding.
  9. Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies
  10. Maintain databases
  11. Answer any questions users might have regarding the system and train peers and relevant stakeholders on delivered analytical tools and dashboards to ensure knowledge handover; assist with production of training material
  12. Report progress and issues to all relevant stakeholders
  13. Support the development of fleet systems by analyzing the needs coming from WFP offices, and submit the clear business requirements to FC Management for review;
  14. Conduct regular fleet systems data analysis and advice country offices to for corrective action to maintain high level of data quality (completeness, correctness, and timeliness)
  15. Ensure vehicle tracking operational data such as VTS devices stock, allocation, airtime etc. are timely updated and reconciled between the VTS platform and FMS data base.
  16. Test the new developments, using the test scenarios, and make sure they function properly and meet the needs of the users
  17. Any other duties as required

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, information technology management, data analytics/management or other relevant disciplines.

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum of three years' experience as a Tableau Data Visualization Specialist
  • Experience using Tableau for the creation of dashboards, standard reports and ad-hoc reports
  • Experience working with multiple disparate data sources
  •  Experience with advanced data visualization topics such as complex calculations, table calculations, parameters, geographic mapping, and performance optimization
  • Familiar with Data Visualization best practices
  • Excellent client interaction, problem solving & communication skills
  • Attention to detail; data analysis skills and quality assurance certification skills.
  • Willingness to travel as and if requested/required.

  • At least 3 years of background developing and supporting Data Visualization solutions using Tableau
  • Understanding of data modelling techniques
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP an asset
  • Analytical mind and business acumen
  • Strong mathematical skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Fleet data and KPIs
  • Ability to work and deliver results within a highly complex organizational environment (i.e. with diverse team, matrix structure and highly evolving operational context);
  • An understanding of working with different cultures.
     

Languages:

  • Verbal and written fluency in English (proficiency/level C) is required. Second UN Language (French, Arabic or Spanish is desirable).
