WASSAN (Watershed Support Services and Activities Network), Hyderabad is a network-based organization focusing on improving the quality of mainstream programs in natural resources management and livelihoods. It engages actively in policy advocacy initiatives at State and National level mainly related to rainfed areas. WASSAN has contributed substantially to development of watershed policies in various States and at the Government of India. WASSAN is also working with various partners in different States as part of RRA Network on rainfed agriculture related agenda.

Job Description:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Coordinate with WSHGs, NGOs, other CBOs, WASSAN team, and government officials of Agriculture and other line departments

2. Support WSHGs on millets-based food enterprise, processing enterprise, consumption, institution building and marketing.

3. Work towards developing linkages for market, financial, technical, etc.

4. Coordinate with different partners, collaborators, donors, to strengthen WSHGs

5. Ensure training, reviews, meeting, workshop organisation, programme management, monitor project activities and regular handholding support to WSHGs.

6. Prepare reference/reading materials, modules/manuals/posters, IEC materials, videos, articles, etc.

7. Develop M&E plan including preparation of consolidated progress reports and regularly update all the MIS Database

8. Document business plans, DPRs, market plans, successful stories and disseminate through different channels and platforms etc. for the WSHGs

9. Regular field visits to different project locations and conduct regular monitoring/ review meetings with WSHGs and to ensure effective implementation.

10. Represent WASSAN in different forums/workshops/seminars/conferences related to WSHGs activities

Desired Candidate Profile:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Master’s Degree in Agriculture or Rural Development/Management or Social Work or Economics

2. Candidates must have at least 5 years of field experience in implementing or supervising with minimum 02 years of experience working with WSHGs. Experience of working on millets would be an advantage.

3. Candidate must have experience of working with Government Departments and NGOs.

4. Candidate must be well versed with MS Office and Google web applications. Basic knowledge in budgeting and accounts will be an additional advantage.

5. Ability to work independently to achieve performance objectives and deliverables; & Work in a team and promote team spirit and culture

6. Candidate should have his/her own bike for commuting and possess a valid driving license.

7. Strong oral and written communication / negotiation skills in Odia (highly preferable), English, and Hindi

Languages:

Excellent reading, writing and speaking skills in Odia and speaking & writing efficiency in English is a must.
