The NORCAP female accelerator Programme was launched in 2020 with five female junior Energy Experts matched with NORCAP senior Energy Experts and partner Energy staff (where available) in five international agencies namely; UNHCR, FAO*, WFP, IOM and NRC. This provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement and ensured that the Experts are supported in the articulation and implementation of system change strategies as well as accelerating their path to largescale impact.

After a successful pilot in 2020 – 2022, the 5 junior Energy Experts had an opportunity to work on various Energy-related projects including clean cooking solutions, Solar Home Systems (SHS), development of mini grids and street lighting infrastructure, greening organisation’s infrastructure to transition from diesel generators to solar Energy, communication, research and advocacy.

As a result, some organisations have developed new system change strategies and moved into the implementation phase.  One such example is in IOM HQ where the Experts have contributed in the standardization of Energy assessment tools and supported country missions with Energy data analysis and project proposal writing.
