The purpose of the Logistics Manager position in a Country Office, is to have responsibility for ensuring that the logistic set up is according to NRC’s standards, and to support programme/project implementation.

Generic responsibilities

The Logistics Manager is overall responsible for:

  1. Ensure that country set up comply with Logistics Handbook, NRC policies and donor requirements
  2. Implement NRC’s logistics systems and procedures
  3. Training and support of line managers and staff with logistical responsibilities
  4. Management of the logistics team
  5. Ensure anti-corruption focus in procedures and trainings
  6. Establish filing systems/archives according to NRC standards in all offices
  7. Initiate and maintain necessary leases, licenses and contracts with relevant authorities and suppliers
  8. Provide regular analysis and reports
  9. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy

Specific responsibilities

  1. Ensure the timely delivery of logistics support services to all NRC CO projects
  2. Assist in logistics budget preparation and follow up and manage allocated budget lines
  3. Development of formalized in-country logistics policy documentation in line with NRC Global procedures
  4. Support on and develop relevant logs training including coaching of newly recruited senior Logistics staff in all Area Offices (AO)
  5. Oversight and coordination of market analysis by logistics staff to support project modality decisions with analysis of the functionality and accessibility of markets local to target populations.

Generic professional competencies:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience from working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in logistics
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Experience of data collection, analysis and report writing
  • Knowledge of market analysis tools and approaches
  • Knowledge and skills in market assessments, analysis and cash-based interventions
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English and French or Spanish, both written and verbal
