The contract will be for a period of 1 year, renewable for another year subject to satisfactory performance and project period extension. The engagement can be cancelled / terminated for any non-performance in duties, misconduct or without assigning any reason thereof.

WASSAN (Watershed Support Services and Activities Network), Hyderabad since 1999 is a network-based organization focusing on improving the quality of mainstream programs in natural resources management and livelihoods. WASSAN partners with the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha for the implementation Odisha Millets Mission in 19 districts.

The project aims to brings Millets from Farms to Plates benefitting the farmers to grow better crops and receive just and efficient prices. The enterprises are set up through Self Help Groups that add to the value chain of the products. The idea of extending the goodness of millets and to increase access to the customers a fair representation is required. A model that brings the goodness of millets in the market in competition with big and trending brands and effective productization that meets the demand of the people in the space. To ideate and take the products developed by SHGs in that direction there is a requirement of a Manager in Product Developer and Brand Management

Job Description:

1. Ideation of new products and packing designs for local, high value and export markets.

2. Development of strategies for brand identification.

3. Planning, Coordination and Management of the existing products in refurbished manner.

4. Regular field visits and monitoring of the SHGs help them to establish the standards to meet FICCI/other statutory norms.

5. Overseeing Capacity Building and CB Management marketing and enterprise team on brand and quality management.

6. Supporting and Handholding of legal compliances for millet outlets for their products.

7. Collection of Report on WSHG engaged under OMM (Processing and Value addition)

8. Liaisioning with IIP team and other stakeholders for standardizing packaging of the existing products and establishing/improving the packaging units of the WSHG under Odisha Millets Mission.

9. Coordination with all the concerned stakeholders for product profiling etc.

Desired Profile of the Candidate:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Should have full-time Master's in Product Development and Management Course/Branding/Quality Management/Management/Relevant degree.

2. Should have at least 3 years of total experience and a minimum of 2 years of experience in agriculture products and marketing. Brand establishment during the previous experience is an added advantage.

3. Should have demonstrable experience of product development and portfolio.

4. Should have knowledge of Self-Help Groups and Farmer Producer Organization

5. Should have a good understanding of food product development and building a marketable brand around it.

6. Should possess strong presentation and articulation skills (both verbal and written). The ability to speak fluently in English and Hindi is a must. Knowledge of Oriya will be an added advantage.

7. Should be willing to work out of Bhubaneswar or any other regional location.

8. Should be willing to work as per the Odisha holiday calendar. Should be willing to work on holidays and long hours as per the requirement of the project.

9. Should be very motivated and be a team player. Should be willing to be flexible with location and work timings. Has strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and has experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

10. Should be willing to learn concepts and become skilled to meet organizational needs.
