Our team and mission

The Business Planning, Management Support and Coordination Office is a part of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Integrated Applications. The Office is responsible for the Directorate’s overall resource planning and controlling and provides support to the Director in the management of the Directorate to ensure the coherent and effective implementation of the Directorate's core activities.

Field(s) of activity/research for the traineeship

As a Young Graduate Trainee, you help support users in the domain of telecommunication. 

You will contribute to the development of business intelligence solutions for internal and external customers, as well as exploring new techniques for visualising management information. You will be involved in outlining problem statements and developing production-grade data visualisation solutions that meet customer requirements. 

You should be enthusiastic about proposing technologically -sound but sometimes out-of-the-box approaches in order to find efficient and sustainable solutions.

You should have just completed or be in the final year of your master’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline. A background in industrial engineering and/or management would b particularly welcome.

Additional requirements

One of the following specific competencies would be considered as an asset:

•    Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on data analysis and problem and solution definition.
•    A strong interest in financial controlling processes and methodologies.
•    A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
•    A capacity to develop analytic solutions and produce visually attractive decision support tools that enable leaders and system practitioners to monitor their business processes and take timely remedial/mitigation action where needed.
•    The capacity to develop reporting mechanisms that support the transition from a posteriori reporting to real-time dash boards.
•    Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. R, Python, Java) and/or automated self-service reporting tools such as Power BI would be a distinct advantage.
 

You should have good interpersonal and communication skills and should be able to work in a multicultural environment, both independently and as part of a team.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
