Senior Content Coordination Officer Organizational Setting and Work Relationships The Senior Content Coordination Officer will create engaging multimedia content that touches hearts and minds and helps build UNHCR¿s brand visibility, raise funds, and increase engagement with new audiences and the general public. The incumbent will pull together and work across teams, help generate great ideas, and set up integrated work processes to deliver cutting edge products. S/he will have to manage multiple, competing tasks; prioritize and coordinate among numerous, concurrent projects; and help teams and colleagues create clear timelines and workplans so teams and projects will be collaborative and coordinated. They must be conveners and team players who will contribute to broader communications goals and projects. Compelling content is vital to UNHCR¿s engagement with external audiences, donors and stakeholders. The organization¿s ability to deliver on its mission depends on its ability to consistently produce and employ cutting-edge multimedia content. The Senior Content Coordination Officer ¿ will play a key role in strengthening UNHCR¿s content production, delivery and distribution to help achieve UNHCR¿s broader advocacy, communication, engagement, and fundraising objectives. All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. Duties - Help develop an integrated strategy to drive longer term planning and day to day processes for content production to achieve advocacy and fundraising objectives in collaboration with content team leads and bureau counterparts. - Liaise with and provide guidance to regional bureaus and country office communications colleagues on content-related operations to ensure reception and delivery of high-quality creative content. - Develop partnerships and actively maintain communication with colleagues across the organization ¿ with other divisions in HQ, Regional Offices, and Country Offices, to facilitate the implementation of the Global Content Strategy and to advance collaboration in the planning, production, and optimal use of compelling content that drives change at global, regional and national levels. - Liaise with teams across the Division of External Relations to identify and implement new content-related opportunities. - Work closely and swiftly in emergency situations with internal stakeholders in DESS, PSP and impacted bureaus and country offices to support and coordinate the development of content across channels within a very limited time frame. - Ensure strengthened project management, and improved coordination of the work of the Global Communications Service through the iterative optimization of the section¿s management tools, processes, and systems. - Develop in collaboration with other Content team leads, appropriate governance structures to support the development of cutting-edge content, including policies, procedures, guidelines, and coordination mechanisms. - Facilitate the implementation of effective and efficient workflows for proactive, integrated content planning and delivery, contributing to key media moments, public and private sector resource mobilization, emergency and thematic advocacy, priority campaigns and initiatives. - Nurtures an enabling environment for the dynamic sharing of content related best practices across the UNHCR network, including regularly organizing skill shares. - Collaborate closely with the analytics team to monitor and evaluate performance of content to inform the ongoing development and execution of the work of the section, and of content strategy. - Map and maintain an overview of how content is produced, stored, and used across the organization. - Work closely with the Chief of Section and content team leads in ongoing work planning, coordination, and regular review and analysis of the impact of activities, strengthening the results focus of the section¿s work, and iterative optimization of the section¿s management systems. - Provide technical support in the development of key performance indicators, and their inclusion in relevant planning and monitoring tools. Designs and implements appropriate monitoring and evaluation approaches to report on these. - Perform other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Education & Professional Work Experience Years of Experience / Degree Level For P4/NOD - 9 years relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or 8 years relevant experience with Graduate degree; or 7 years relevant experience with Doctorate degree Field(s) of Education Journalism; International Relations; Political Science; Communications; Public Information; Media; or other relevant field. Experience in managing or leading market research to inform campaign / content creative plans. Demonstrated high-level competencies in interpersonal communication, teamwork, and drive for results Advertising or digital agency experience or in-depth understanding of agency functions a definite advantage. Knowledge of content creation and digital marketing, of public relations tools and techniques. Strong project management experience. Experience in direct advertising/marketing, public relations, public information, fundraising and digital marketing experience would be a clear advantage. Knowledge of social media best practices, optimizing content for social and driving online engagement Understanding of issues such as forced displacement, statelessness, internal displacement, and international law Evidence of ability to build good customer relationships with stakeholders and influencers. Nature of Position:

Professional experience related to project management in media and communications or UN or UNHCR experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead collaboration across multiple teams on public-facing projects as well as experience in building and fostering media partnerships. The position requires strong judgement, planning and monitoring skills, organizational skills and experience in managing budgets and mobilizing resources.

The Senior Content Coordination Officer position plays a pivotal global role in ensuring strong collaboration and project management to achieve GCS ' main goals of mobilizing action, leading the narrative, generate empathy and mobilize resources. Vital to success of this work is ensuring that an integrated approach to content is adopted, supporting global initiatives across teams, services and divisions.

The Senior Content Coordination Officer will liaise with content teams in the bureaux as well as HQ to achieve these objectives. The Senior Content Coordination Officer is directly supervised by the Chief of Section, Multimedia Content.

The Senior Content Coordination Officer may be required to travel to and work for short periods in any of the humanitarian environments that UNHCR deals with. This may entail working in countries dealing with situations of instability or conflict. For this reason, some prior experience of having worked in such environments is useful.

Living and Working Conditions:

The post is based in Geneva, Switzerland, but requires travel and flexibility regarding the working hours and missions and assignments on very short notice. Deadlines are tight and workload is considerable. He/she must be prepared to travel to UNHCR field operations, including hardship duty stations.
