SOS Children’s Villages of India is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organisation working for the holistic development of parentless children, women and children belonging to vulnerable families. Founded in 1949 in Austria, SOS Children’s Villages began its operations in India in 1964. For over 50 years, we have reached out to over 25,000 children through our 32 SOS Children’s Villages and 32 community projects in India. SOS Children’s Villages of India was established in 1964 at Faridabad near Delhi. SOS India has worked with children, communities, disaster struck and disaster-prone areas, giving hope to weary communities and families. SOS India is the largest operation within the SOS International Federation of 134 countries.

Areas of Responsibility

Strategic :

• Develop the Communication Strategy, Content and roadmap for SOS India
• Identify opportunities to increase awareness of our work and reach wider audiences.
• Developing a Media plan with our agencies and ensuring implementation.
• Developing and assisting the Fund-raising team to run Campaigns.
• Explore opportunities to build partnerships with traditional print and new age digital media companies with an objective of improving SOS visibility.
• Uphold the organisation Brand and ensure compliance across the organisation.
• Periodically conduct brand awareness studies with appropriate agencies to ascertain our recall with external stakeholders and partners to enable realignment of our communication to our target group.
• Lead the communication agencies in managing and addressing situational media queries and coverages.
• Coordinate with International Office with respect to Brand & communication synergies

Creating Development Content & Communication:

• Developing communication collaterals to support fund-raising and programmes.
• Preparing guidelines for the usage of communication material
• Documenting the implementation and preparing impact reports
• Creating communication material like presentations, leaflets, documents, etc. maintaining the required tone and voice
• Handling the publication of organisations internal communication materials e.g. Newsletters, Brochures, Impact Reports, Success stories, Case studies.
• Developing the Content and Artwork (preferable) for print / online advertisements.
• Lead the development of organisation Annual Report, Calendars to depict the theme of the year appropriately.

Event Organization and Management:
• Responsible for end to end planning of organizational events including fund-raising events in collaboration with respective fund development teams.
• Lead the organizing of internal events like award ceremonies and celebrations.
• Lead in content and creative development of relevant communication material like banners, backdrops, folders etc.

Vendor Relation Management :
• Coordinating and managing communication agencies for PR, Content creation and Digital marketing. Reviewing them timely to ensure productivity.
• Briefing and ensuring communication agencies are aligned to our strategy
• Responsible for timely pay-outs to the agencies and ensuring financial compliances.
Online Communication:
• Overall responsibility of content development, management of website including working with internal stakeholder to ensure periodic content updation.
• Responsible for organisations Social Media handles and the content development and tracking of the same.
• Update all the online mediums of communication from time to time.

• Targets planned v/s achieved

Working conditions:
• This position will be based at the National Office, New Delhi and reporting to Chief Fund Development Officer.

Qualifications & Experience :

Education:

Master's degree / Diploma in a field with relevance to the position.

Experience:

10-12 years of experience in the relevant field with proven track record.

Languages:

Excellent communication skills (English and Hindi). Must have significant and proven writing, presentation and people management skills.
