OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The mission of WHO's Health Emergencies Programme (The Programme) is to help countries, coordinate international action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, rapidly respond to, and recover from outbreaks and emergencies

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The incumbent will perform the following duties:

Logistics:

  1. Contribute to the supply and distribution/delivery of international shipments, monitor and assess quality,quantity and safety of the received goods; review clearance and proper storage of goods.
  2. Follow up and ensure that goods arrived are inspected and reported accurately in Global Inventory Management System (GIMS) as per different stock owner.
  3. Monitor on-going shipments, pipeline information, notify supervisors of any unforeseen problems pertainingto discharge, clearing operations, deliveries, ..etc
  4. Prepare Certificate of Origin from Dubai chamber of Commerce and WHO Donation letter when needed as shipping documents for all outbound goods.
  5. Provide regular and ad hoc reports on the progress and movement of shipments of goods if needed by the supervisors.

Office related:

6. Register fixed assets in GSM.Ensure that office assets are bar coded and regular physical count is performed. Update and maintain accurate fixed assets and inventories data and reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: Completion of secondary education
Desirable: University degree in business administration, logistics management or related field is anasset.

Experience

Essential: At least 3 years' progressive experience in the field of logistics or related field.
Desirable: Relevant experience in the UN system

Skills

  • Sound organization skills;
  • Stress and time management skills.
  • Good knowledge of WHO systems, procedures andpractices

Use of Language Skills

Essential: Intermediate knowledge of English.

REMUNERATION

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at AED 192,961 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
