Functional Responsibilities

The incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Provide reporting and analysis for donors on the UNOPS-OSESGY partnership Peace Support Project;

  • Prepare documentation in support of the Steering Committee of the Peace Support Project;

  • Liaise with donors and OSESGY on project proposal development and reporting;

  • Support work related to an evaluation of the impact of the Project, including conceptualization of the evaluation and outreach to donors;

  • Under the guidance of the Chief of Staff, and in coordination with the Project Officer and UNOPS, prepare and update a resource mobilization strategy;

  • Provide support to the Chief of Staff on all issues related to Yemen and Amman-based operations, including on issues related to strategic planning involving business continuity, operational agility, gender, and climate and sustainability issues.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education - Advanced University Degree (Master's or equivalent degree) in social sciences or related fields. 



Work Experience:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in external relations, including a minimum of 4 years of experience in the preparation of grant applications.
  •  A minimum of 4 years of experience of working on programmatic planning including the development of strategic planning tools.
  • Experience of one year working in a conflict area is required.
  • Experience of working in the Middle East is desirable.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools is desirable.  


Languages - English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For the position advertised, English is required. Knowledge of a second UN official language is highly desirable.
