To effectively meet the challenge of protecting the world’s forests, we are committed to ensuring we have the world’s most skilled people working with us. This commitment extends to everyone that works in FSC around the world: from those that lead the design of policies and standards, to those that roll out those same policies and standards on the ground, and to those that provide us with backbone to do our work.

We are looking for an engaged Country Requirements Manager/ Officer who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

The Scope

FSC is responsible for setting requirements for responsible forest management all over the world. While cornerstone rules are set internationally, many of FSC requirements need local adaptation, resulting in various normative documents produced that are applicable for a given country or region.

To arrive at a country-relevant set of requirements, the robust process, close collaboration with FSC Network Partners globally, and the robust assessment of the adapted contents are needed.

You will learn about Indigenous Peoples in various places in the world, about environmental values and forest management practices from Alaska, throughout Congo Basin up to Tasmania. You will hold many exciting conversations with people representing various interest in the countries concerned, and finally, you will recommend or not whether a standard merit the international approval.

Given high level of specialization and responsibly behind content assessments, we are searching for professionals enjoying very deep and detailed document reviews, with an extremely good eye for smallest details while maintaining the ability to keep the global overview in sight. If you are a person who enjoys the above, and have a natural drive for deep specialization, we would love seeing you apply!
