The Norwegian Refugee Council has an interesting and rewarding opportunity to be part of our newest country of operation - Sudan.

Who Are We ?  NRC is an International Non-Governmental Organization that operates in more than 30 countries. The main headquarter is in Oslo – Norway. NRC resumes its operation in Sudan on March 2020 and since then it has established different Area Offices in Gadarif, Fasher, Geneina, Kosti and South Kordofan. NRC is mainly involved in different core competencies such as Education, Protection, Wash, Shelter, Livelihoods and Food Security and Camp Management. The current Country Office is placed in Khartoum.

The following is a brief description of the role.

Role and responsibilities

  • Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
  • Ensure that M&E tools and SOPs are correctly utilized in Khartoum Area, as well as by partners [where relevant]
  • Maintaining a data management system Support in developing data collection tools and sampling 
  • Technical support to baseline surveys, post distribution monitoring, assessments, Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices (KAP) surveys, qualitative interview guides, focus group discussion guides
  • Communicate regularly and participate in technical programme meetings including with M&E Khartoum and ensure programmes in Area have adequate M&E support and resources
  • Provide technical support on creating and implementing M&E Plans and M&E Matrices at Area level
  • Train and support programme staff on using data collection tool (Kobo)
  • Ensure monthly achievements (Outputs, Outcomes) are reported
  • Develop Monitoring Reports (e.g. PDMs)
  • Provide when relevant updates to beneficiary groups
  • Report cluster/sector 4Ws for Shelter, WASH, ICLA, RRM and Education team field team.
  • Hold trainings and refresher sessions for CFM and program staff to ensure they have the capacity and skills to deal with complaints at the field level.

 

Professional competencies

  • At least 3 years Experience with and knowledge of principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation in relief and development programs, using both quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong computers skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). 
  • Able to travel to other areas in Sudan.
  • Knowledge of digital data collection platforms (KoBo, CommCare, Ona). 
  • Handling insecure environments

  • Planning and delivering results
