IRC’s Emergencies & Humanitarian Action Unit
 
The IRC’s Emergencies & Humanitarian Action Unit (EHAU) is responsible for IRC’s global emergency preparedness and response activities. The mission of the EHAU is to expand and improve IRC’s ability to help affected communities survive in acute emergencies and hard to reach contexts by investing in people, systems, and solutions to complex humanitarian challenges. The EHAU team achieves this mission through thorough risk analysis, investing in capacity strengthening of frontline humanitarians, partnership with local actors, offering collaborative support and technical assistance to teams working in emergencies and hard-to-reach places, and deploying and supporting emergency response staff as they help people affected by acute crisis situations.

Job Overview:  
 
The Deployment Assistant is part of the Deployment Management Team and would be responsible for administrative tasks associated with supporting IRC’s Global Surge Team (GST). The IRC’s Global Surge Team (GST) is a roster of esteemed and highly qualified humanitarian professionals who deploy on short notice to non-emergency and emergency contexts to support the IRC’s mission. 

Major Responsibilities: 
 
Benefits tracking
Gather monthly reports from Workday on GST Time & Effort.
 
Track GST deployment rates, benefits eligibility, and leaves of absence.
 
Onboarding tasks for GST staff
Create and populate staff folders.
 
Set up IRC email, request Integra access, create and ship ID cards.
 
Add staff to Deployment Management System, Benefits Tracker, and Deployment Report. 
 
Schedule onboarding sessions. 
 
Support staff with Integra expense reports. 
 
Other tasks and projects as directed by supervisor.
 
Key Working Relationships
Position reports to: People & Operations Coordinator
Other working relationships: Deployment Managers, HR Deputy Director, HR Manager. 

Job Requirements: 
 
High school diploma required; some university education preferred. 
 
Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills. 
 
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
 
Ability to learn and navigate new software such as Integra, Workday, and ServiceNow. 
 
Must be well-organized, reliable, and detail oriented. 
 
US work authorization.

Working Environment:  Remote.
