BACKGROUND:

The resettlement office in Salt Lake City provides services to newly arrived refugees.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The case management program includes providing core services to new arrivals, and helping clients work towards self-sufficiency during their first two years in the U.S. in the areas of health, employment, finances, DWS, education, housing, family, and community. Casework interns work closely with the casework supervisors and caseworkers throughout their internship, assisting and learning about all aspects of the casework program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

              New arrival services: lease signing, setting up utilities, home safety & cleaning orientation, etc.

              Assist with new arrivals supplies purchases/inventory and organization, transportation to appointments, home visits

              Assist with home set up and furniture delivery

              Housing searches and applications

              Referral and connection to community services

              Data entry

              Participation in case staffing and staff meetings

              Be able to lift heavy items and stand for a long period of time throughout the day
