Background:

OSCE field operations are the front line of the OSCE’s engagement on the ground, supporting host authorities in fulfilling OSCE commitments and implementing a comprehensive approach to security. The OSCE Mission to Skopje is the Organization's longest-serving field operation working on inter-ethnic relations, early warning, the rule of law, democratic governance, transnational threats and police reform.

The Mission requires temporary assistance in the position of Driver (G2 level) on occasional and ad-hoc basis, with the need for deployment as early as operational needs require, and for that purpose, the Mission is updating its Roster of qualified candidates.

Applicants’ successful placement on the Temporary Assistance Roster is subject to their meeting the minimum qualification and skill level for the position, and does not express or imply any guarantee of employment with the OSCE Mission to Skopje.
 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Transport Assistant and general guidance from the General Services Officer, the Driver(s) will be responsible for driving mission members, visitors, documents, goods, etc., as well as the daily maintenance of the assigned vehicles. 

More specifically, the responsibilities will include: 

1.    Driving OSCE vehicles up to the capacity of 8 (eight) passengers, and light cargo vehicles, as well as:
a.    Taking responsibility of the safety and security of passengers and goods;
b.    Delivering and collecting mail, documents and other items;
c.    Transporting official personnel;
d.    Transporting non-OSCE persons upon receipt of a completed the Liability Release Form.
2.    Day to day maintenance of the assigned and other vehicles, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, lights, tyres etc., performing minor repairs and reporting other repairs; ensuring that the assigned vehicles are kept clean and ready for use;
3.    Logging official trips and completing the daily trip ticket by entering all required data such as driver’s name, destination, daily km, and fuel drawn;
4.    Ensuring that all steps required by rules and regulations are followed in case of involvement in accident, or in case that the vehicle breaks down;
5.    Using ancillary vehicle technical equipment such as satellite navigation, dash cameras, blue tooth hands free telephone set up and the GPS tracking systems;
6.    Performing other duties as assigned.
 


Necessary Qualifications:

  • Citizenship of or permanent residence in the Republic of North Macedonia;
  • Secondary education or equivalent. Not endorsed and minimum four years’ valid driving license minimum B category;
  • Minimum two years’ working experience as a Driver, with established awareness of security issues; skills in minor vehicle repairs;
  • Good communication skills in English and in one or more local languages.

 

Remuneration Package:

Remuneration will be in line with the level of the position and in accordance with OSCE Mission to Skopje local staff salary scale.
