Classification: Full time salary (exempt)

 

Overall Responsibility

RefugePoint is looking for a full-time Program Officer to support our global deployment program, comprised of the RefugePoint-UNHCR Collaboration Project (UNCP) and privately-funded deployments. The position will provide full-time support to the deployment programs and deployees (Experts), which includes data management, analysis and reporting, human resources functions in partnership with RefugePoint’s Human Resources team, onboarding of new staff, and ensuring overall program compliance.

 

This position reports to the Associate Director for Deployment Programs.

  

The successful candidate will have experience completing similar tasks in a professional working environment for at least 4-5 years. They will have experience working on a variety of projects both independently and alongside a diverse, international team.   The candidate will also enjoy supporting and developing an organizational culture based on the guiding values of the organization. Key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support in reviewing and maintaining Expert personnel files, ensuring employment paperwork is complete, up to date, and filed in compliance with program policies;

  • Manage the program’s file and personnel management systems to ensure that all systems and resources remain current at all times;

  • Maintain case tracking tools and manage the casework database, including inputting data and maintaining a central tracking system for core statistics and other data;

  • Collect and review Experts’ quarterly narrative reports and use qualitative and quantitative data to draft content for internal and external reports;

  • Assist in data management, analysis, and dissemination of program outputs utilizing data visualization methods;

  • Support onboarding of new Experts, including providing training in Operational Reporting;

  • Participate in the recruitment process for Experts, including being a regular member of the interview panel;

  • Support in responding to requests for information from other headquarters staff, in particular for fundraising and external communications;

  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly Expert meetings to build knowledge and confidence in internal systems and procedures;

  • Support in developing activities and lines of communication that promote further connectivity between Experts, as well as between the UNCP and other RefugePoint programs and offices;

  • Compile quarterly newsletters for Experts that include a review of the previous quarter’s casework statistics; policy and programmatic updates; upcoming events; and other relevant topics. 

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • Synthesizing information from multiple sources to write impactful reports for internal and external audiences

  • Working with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar software

  • Web-based tools and platforms such as Salesforce, Google Workspace, Monday.com, Zoho Expense, or other similar platforms

  • Cross-cultural communication

  • Conducting and analyzing surveys

  • Translating data and technical concepts into more accessible formats

  • Teaching people how to use platforms

  • Creating and coordinating projects

  • Confidentiality and discretion

  • Working in a non-profit setting (preferred but not required)

  • Working in a foreign country, or at least understanding challenges faced by persons doing so (preferred but not required)

  • You are equally comfortable working independently and with a team, and enjoy supporting your colleagues’ successes.

Compensation:
