Unicef Malaysia is currently looking for a suitable candidate for the position of Fund Raising Officer (Donor Cultivation).

How can you make a difference?

Contracts and Vendors Management
  • Work with Pledge Retention Officer to plan annual Direct Mail (DM) mailing campaign, budget and vendor contracts required to support cash appeal mailing and donor communication plan.
  • Prepare Terms of Reference (TOR), technical evaluation matrix, proposal template, manage tender bidding process with the support from Supply and Procurement unit and Fundraising Assistant.
  • Monitor contracts’ budget, expenditure and contract deliverables.
DM Campaign Management 
  • Work closely with Marketing Services Officer and Pledge Retention Officer for Direct Mail and eDM annual content plan.
  • Work with Pledge Retention Officer to review and update Marketing Communication Calendar for campaign deadline and content delivery.
  • Develop campaign brief for Marketing Services Officer and brief agency on creative direction.
  • Brief and monitor production vendors on working timeline and ensure mailing deadlines are met.
  • Develop mailing test to increase campaign response rate, increase average cash gift and frequency of donation.
  • Manage costing and ensure cost effective production of donor communication materials.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of campaign test and strive to optimize ROI
Mid-Level Donors Cultivation Programme and Support Donor retention programme 
  • Work closely with Pledge Retention Officer and Marketing Services Officer to develop mid-level donors’ cultivation programme
  • Support activities and events to build donor engagement
  • Execute retention test and monitor progress
  • Support retention/fulfillment agency to monitor retention mailing and stock level
  • Review retention materials on periodic basis and refresh/update content when necessary
Database marketing 
  • Effective use and management of donor database to allow profitable selection and segmentation for mailing.
  • Develop annual plan for segmentation test to increase donor lifetime value
Reporting 
  • Prepare and submit campaign budget/forecast, trend analysis and periodic reports for all DM & eDM campaigns
  • Generate monthly reports and analysis of campaign results
Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by the Pledge Retention Officer such as emergency fundraising.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A first-level university degree in one of the following areas is required: Communications, Journalism, or equivalent professional work experience in the Marketing communication area.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media.
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
