Mission and objectives

International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the inter-governemntal organization founded in 1951 with the headquarters in Geneva. The International Organization for Migration acts together with its partnerrs in the international community to: - Uphold the human dignity and well being of migrants; - Encourage social and economic development through migration; - Assist in meeting the growing operational challenges of migration management, and - Advance understanding of migration issues. IOM activities that cut across these areas include the promotion of international migration law, policy debate and guidance, protection of migrants' rights, migration health and the gender dimension of migration. IOM in the Czech Republic has been active since 1998.

Context

Under the direct supervision of Public Information Officer, and in close collaboration with Heads of Units, the volunteer(s) will be primarily responsible for the creation of social media content based on IOM Czechia activities and events, and the preparation of summary of IOM Czechia activities for the website https://czechia.iom.int/. The Communications Unit of IOM Czechia is very busy (one man show currently); therefore, the volunteer(s) will be a real added value to the agency, while having a space for development of their skills and creativity.

Task description

We are seeking 1-2 Online Volunteer(s) to support us with content development for our social media and website. The tasks include: - Social media content development - Social media management - Website content development Social media: - 3-5 SM posts/ week (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram - one post can be often used for all the SM platforms) Website/ other comms material - 5-10 texts of different nature/ week summarizing activities of IOM Czechia
