The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia is looking for an international Consultant to provide technical support for the data processing and analysis of the Covid-19 Socio-economic Impact Assessment – Wave 14 with the following purpose. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Social Policy (P4), the consultant will be responsible for: • Managing the quality assurance of the data collection, ensure data quality in the survey dashboard. In this regard, consultant is expected to provide continuous technical inputs and training on questionnaires if the need occurs. • Data management, calculation of composite indicators and data analysis for the summary of findings • Support the quality assurance of the dashboard and the survey database in support of the management of the finalization of the contract with the data collection firm. How can you make a difference?

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Social Policy (P4), the consultant will be responsible for:

  • Managing the quality assurance of the data collection, ensure data quality in the survey dashboard. In this regard, consultant is expected to provide continuous technical inputs and training on questionnaires if the need occurs. 
  • Data management, calculation of composite indicators and data analysis for the summary of findings
  • Support the quality assurance of the dashboard and the survey database in support of the management of the finalization of the contract with the data collection firm.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A university degree at minimum master level in one of the following fields is required: Economics, development economics, social sciences, public health, international development, public policy, research methods, or another relevant technical field where research methods including quantitative research methods were an integral part of the training

Knowledge and Skills

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: Research in development, including design of research methods, ideally in child development; quantitative data analysis and reporting, data management and experience in using statistical packages such as Stata, R or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing and analysing longitudinal data is a must.
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Experience in using a statistical programme (R or STATA) and Excel
  • Knowledge of the nutritional situation and nutrition services in Cambodia, especially for Severe Acute Malnutrition
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. The candidate may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid).
