SCOPE OF WORK: During the summer of 2023 the Youth Program Department will be facilitating summer enrichment programs for refugee youth living in the Phoenix area. These programs will include students from ages of 5 to 18. Students will attend field trips, social adjustment groups, and other programming. Interns will work closely with students, teachers, and program staff to facilitate and supervise activities. Interns will also work with staff and volunteers to coordinate a back to school backpack giveaway. Interns will be responsible for creating a safe and positive learning environment for students and must be culturally aware and sensitive regarding the needs of the students. Effective communication and engagement are encouraged to achieve the goals and objectives of the program, supporting integration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate and supervise student engagement during activities, projects, or presentations.
Travelling off site to schools for events and activities.
Preparing, set up, and tear down for events.
Planning and supervising field trips in coordination with the Youth Program staff.
Coordinating back to school backpack giveaway in coordination with Youth Program staff.
Complete reporting on summer activities, including attendance.
Participate in all required training.
