Samagra Innovations:
Samagra has established a mechanism to identify and mentor innovative solutions for the urban poor as part of its endeavour to create a platform to foster innovative solutions that address obstacles to improving RMNCH+A outcomes and primary health outcomes in general. Samagra supports innovators in bridging the gap between piloting and concepting to scale, allowing them to demonstrate their solutions to a sizable population and use this opportunity to build a structure for scale. Samagra's curated innovations are user-centered, evidence-based, albeit preliminary evidence-based, and scalable. The innovations supported by this initiative should be gender-sensitive by design. PSI has partnered with private sector organizations to co-design and demonstrate their innovative solutions in select Samagra geographies-
1. Enabling access to social entitlements- In partnership with Haqdarshak through a model that combines technology and last mile entrepreneurship, this innovation has built capacity of over 300 women entrepreneurs who have facilitated more than 150,000 schemes and entitlements for the urban poor in Indore. The innovation is currently in the acceleration phase of implementation, which will conclude in July 2023, to be followed by an endline evaluation, documentation of lessons learned, and recommendations for scale.
2. Enabling access to consumer/employer financed affordable health insurance products- This innovation, developed in collaboration with Entitled Solutions, aims to provide contract workers with access to subscription-based health assurance and health insurance products via their employers/aggregators. The product and service access are enabled via WhatsApp bot. Currently, the product is in the demonstration phase, and we are evaluating product market fit by testing variants. Currently, 12,000 individuals are enrolled in product variants, whereas only 2% of those enrolled are using them. The focus of the partner is on gaining a understanding of consumer needs and enhancing marketing and distribution. In addition to enhancing the user interface, the partner is developing a proprietary mobile and web application as well as an interactive dashboard.
