Knowledge Officer

Contract: Permanent, Full Time,

Salary: £37,130 - £38,986 depending on experience with excellent benefits

Location: London, UK

Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. In order to apply for this post, you must be able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK.

    About the Team:
    The Research and Learning team supports WaterAid staff to use systematic approaches to research, learning, capacity development and knowledge management. The team plays a crucial role in driving forward WaterAid's research and learning agenda, which includes ensuring effective programmatic learning and knowledge sharing across the organisation.

    About the Role:
    In this role as Knowledge Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the knowledge management function with information management, knowledge capture and sharing activities, supporting the learning culture within the organisation and strengthen programmatic learning and knowledge sharing across the organisation.

    On a day-to-day basis you will be engaging with colleagues in WaterAid country programmes and the International Programmes Department; managing WaterAid's internal programme and policy information library; organising learning events and developing knowledge outputs in various forms such as reports, case studies, posters and infographics.

    You'll also:

    • Work with the Learning and Knowledge Advisor to identify opportunities to build engagement of different audiences
    • Analysis and synthesise evidence and learning
    • Support Country Programmes and global teams to produce creative and knowledge products and effective dissemination plans
    • Organising dissemination activities (such as webinars, engaging in conferences, etc.),
    • Support Country Programmes and technical leads to for sharing knowledge [
    • Coordination and oversight of PSU publications and blogs
    • Be an active team member supporting a broad range of activities within the remit of the Research & Learning (R&L) team as required

    About You:

    • A degree in social sciences or related field or equivalent experience or equivalent experience
    • Information management (managing electronic and manual publications, systematising creation, control, update, disposal etc of records)
    • * developing a range of knowledge and communication products and formats (for example: briefs, reports, case studies) based on audience needs and preferences.
    • Collecting, analysing and synthesising data (for example: literature reviews, evidence syntheses, semi-structured interviews, and data analysis) involving multiple data sources and types.
    • Facilitating and implementing learning and sharing experiences / events
    • Stakeholder management, managing relationships
