Digital Product Lead

Contract: Permanent, Full time,

Salary: £53,065 to £55,718 with excellent benefits

Location: London, UK

Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. In order to apply for this post, you must be able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK.

About the Team:
The Digital Product team sits within the Mass Engagement Department, which is part of the Fundraising and Communications Directorate. The team supports and directly delivers activities to grow online revenue and supporter engagement as well as supporting digital activities globally across the international WaterAid Federation.

About the Role:
The role ensures that WaterAid's digital products are serving our supporters and enabling teams to build experiences that help us achieve WaterAid's mission to transform the lives of the poorest and most marginalised people by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
As a Digital Product Lead, you will be responsible for managing the digital product portfolio and working closely with cross-functional and global teams, including Fundraising, Communications, Strategic Partnerships, Performance, Insight and Innovation, as well as colleagues in Data, Compliance, and Security. You will be responsible for managing the digital analytics function and agency relationships.

You'll also:

  • Drive product innovation and differentiation, leveraging industry trends, customer feedback, and best practices in digital governance and security.
  • Lead the team to develop the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs, as well as compliance with relevant regulations and security standards.
  • Manage international stakeholder relationships, considering cultural differences and regional regulations
  • Develop and implement metrics to track product performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Coach and mentor team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and development, as well as promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and the organization.

About You:
We are looking for a Digital Product Lead to head up our digital product team and drive innovation and growth for the organisation. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with a deep understanding of digital product development, user experience, and agile methodologies. You will have a proven track record of launching successful digital products and scaling them to achieve business goals, while ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and security standards.

To be successful, you'll need:

  • Strong understanding of user experience design, agile development methodologies, digital governance, and security standards.
  • Experience in developing and launching digital products, as well as managing agency relationships.
  • Proven experience and detailed knowledge of compliance, accessibility and security
  • Proven track record of driving business results through digital product development
  • Experience of website optimisation including SEO and CRO, as well as accessibility
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, while also promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform product strategy, decision-making, and digital analytics.
  • Passion for innovation and staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and digital governance/security best practices.
  • Experience engaging and collaborating with colleagues across a global organisation.
