Job Overview: As a housing assistant, you will perform clerical duties to help the housing department run smoothly and efficiently. Your main duties include calling and answering phone calls and emails to Ukrainian clients as well as assisting the housing case manager with enrolling clients in housing services.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Answering phone calls and responding to emails from Ukrainian clients in a professional and courteous manner and directing them to the appropriate housing services.
  • Assisting the housing case managers in enrolling clients in housing services, which may include providing information on available housing options, eligibility requirements, and application processes.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client information and housing services, using various filing and database management systems.
  • Providing general administrative support to the housing department, such as scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, and filing documents.
  • Collaborating with other staff members and departments to ensure efficient and effective delivery of housing services.
  • Documentation of case notes on the IRC systems including ETO, Integra
  • Following established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department head.

Position Reports to: Housing Manager with a dotted line to the Housing Administrator

Internal: Resettlement Housing; Ukrainian Casework Team, Employment Team; Operations Team; Finance Team; other IRC Washington Program Teams
External: Housing Providers, Property Management Companies, Apartment Managers, other community partners; and housing providers
