Mission and objectives

Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leadingUN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental andnon-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for thebenefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context

Routed Magazine, an online publication on migration and (im)mobility and iDiaspora, a global engagement and knowledge exchange hub for diaspora communities' partnered to publish a joint issue on the theme of ‘Diasporas at the forefront of social protection: impacts, dynamics, and future opportunities’ in July 2023. The manuscripts will be submitted in English, but subsequent translations will be made in Spanish. For this partnership we will have a short-term task of translating the manuscripts selected for publication and will have the collaboration of volunteers to translate each piece into the desirable language. The volunteer will be expected to complete the task in 2 weeks. The final document shall follow IOM’s editorial practices.

Task description

The volunteer will translate 3 - 4 manuscripts of approximately 10 to 12 pages each in accordance with IOM Styling Guide and British Spelling.
