Head of Project - Livelihoods and Economic Recovery*

in Poltava 

The position is to be filled as of July 1, 2023, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Poltava, Ukraine.

As Head of Project - Livelihoods and Economic Recovery you will manage the implementation of a Livelihoods and Economic Recovery project co-implemented with national and international partners. The project encompasses MSME support, business mentoring, short term livelihoods, skills development and other economic recovery related topics. You will also assist in the development of new projects and linking economic recovery activities with ongoing humanitarian response activities.

Your responsibilities

  • Continiously identify the economic recovery needs in project areas and propose and implement action to cover these needs
  • Manage and recruit project team including business counselors, trainers, and other servcice providers
  • Coordinate with implementing partner(s) and support them in the implementation of their activities ensuring timely delivery of project outputs
  • Financial management of the projects, producing financial forecasts and verifying budgets vs. actual on regular basis
  • Logistics management of the projects, ensuring that the procurement requests are done in a timely and effective manner in coordination with the operations department
  • Collaborate with partnership team in the management of partnership agreements
  • Work with MEAL team to analyse key data linked to project outputs and quality, and share output-level data with JERU MEAL department as required
  • Attend coordination meetings relavent to the project, including livelihoods workinggroup meetings and other relevant meeting in the project implementation area
  • Regularly meet with local stakeholders including economic development department, municipalities, business associations and others to ensure they are informed about JERU's economic recovery activities
  • Actively Support Programme Director and in-country Technical Advisors in the development of new proposals and the country strategy as required
  • Coordinate with the Partnership Advisor on the capacity building needs and planning of local partners and on the identification of potential new partners
  • Ensure that economic recovery activities are linked with humanitarian response activities
  • Ensure protection mainstreaming in the implementation of the project

Your profile

  • A university or college degree in business, economics or other qualifications that are commensurate with this position
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a similar position
  • Experience in Ukraine or a similar contexts is an asset
  • Coordination and organisational skills, including ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and intercultural sensibility
  • Proven experience in managing partnerships with national organizations
  • Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for working in Welthungerhilfe's project countries
  • Excellent spoken and written English, knowledge of Ukranian or Russian is an asset
