Role objectives |

Support planning and coordination of Migration Health Unit (MHU) immunization program and operations in all provinces.
-
Provide technical support, guidance, and supervision to MHU field team in all field related to vaccination and routine immunization.
-
Coordinate all required services within MHU (Health Operation support, Health Information Management & Reporting, Capacity building, Coordination and Health Partnership engagement) in south region provinces.
-
Follow the Expanded Programs for Immunization (EPI) activities and special focus on the implementation of the EPI new projects that recently MHU/IOM engaged in south and Estearn region provinces.
-
Support the National Programme Officer (MHU/Immunization) , in the recruitment and deployment of MHU staffing in all provincesother in coordination with other MHU senior team, and field sub office.

Follow-up the implementation of the vaccination and routine immunization projects at the provinces in collaboration and liaison with the Regional Health Cluster and the local Provincial Public Health Director (PPHD) of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and other partners.

Participate in key coordination forums at Provincial level such as Regional Cluster meetings, Provincial Public Health Coordination Committee (PPHCC), EPR meetings and other coordination platforms as relevant in the region.

Supervise, lead, guide and support the senior Program assistants (MHU) and the MHU focal points, thereby enabling them to fulfil their roles and responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.

Monitor vaccination and routine immunization activities, regular check the M&E data quality and implement M&E learning, raising all deviations to MHU Management with corrective measures. Provide timely feedback to the senior Program assistants (MHU and the MHU focal points related to key finding during the monitoring and supervision visits.

Undertake duty travel, as required and in line with prevailing security restrictions, related to vaccination and routine immunization project implementation and oversight, staff training, and liaison with partners in the provinces.

Ensure in coordination with DTM unit the implementation of population mobility mapping (PMM) exercise in targeted provinces., including TORs elaboration, assessment, reporting and dissemination to key stakeholders.

Lead the project assessments and research in the provinces.

Take part in all regional and provincial technical and admin meetings in south region and provide feedback to provincial public health assistants, MHU focal points and IOM health team in Kabul.
Ensures data collection and use are maintained in the provinces in the light of data integrity and security policies.

Further information |
Education:
-
University Degree in Medicine, Public Health or related field with two years' experience.
-
Master’s degree in medicine, Public Health or related field.
Experience:
-
Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in public health programme.
-
Working experience in health projects would be on advantage.

Experience working with Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, Word, Outlook Explorer, Power Point, Access)
-
Flexibility and ability to work with minimal supervision under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
-
Ability and willingness to travel inside Afghanistan and overseas as requested.
