The incumbent of this post reports to the the Multimedia Officer.

Responsibilities

Reviews UNRWA videos and undertakes first cuts of edits for UNRWA videos located in HQ Gaza; responsible for all audio assessing and editing, in close cooperation with the multimedia team.

Adds special effects on videos and multimedia materials using infographics, maps, animation, and illustrations.

Produces videos for donor visibility in close cooperation with other members of the multimedia and creative production team, ensuring that products are in line with UNRWA messaging and donor requirements, as appropriate.

Creates and edits subtitles for all UNRWA videos in English and Arabic.

Responsible for operating sound mixing equipment for the production of multimedia material, to ensure the audio is clear and consistent.

Collects footage for UNRWA videos, clips, and multimedia production, and maintains all UNRWA footage/ rushes/ B-roll to support UNRWA archiving unit; clears and stores all final cut products used on UNRWA social media platforms to include in the UNRWA archive; manages and maintains UNRWA camera and sound recording equipment including through inventory and maintenance to ensure equipment is always updated and ready to be used.

Merges the two UNRWA YouTube channels, including undertaking the migration of material from UNRWA TV to another UNRWA platforms.

Education

A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Graphics Design and Animation or a related discipline.

Work Experience

At least four years of relevant experience in graphic design and animation is required.

Experience in handling production equipment including cameras, stabilizers, lighting, camera movement (in studio and on location) is required.

A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Graphics Design and Animation or a related discipline is required.

Experience in the production of documentary films/interviews is desirable.

Experience in the creation of infographics using industry-standard software (e.g., the Adobe suite), solid proficiency in Adobe Create Cloud (Adobe CC) bundle software, in particular Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and familiarity with Adobe CC based Libraries is desirable.

Knowledge of relevant computer software such as Microsoft Office applications is desirable.

Special Notice

Contract Type: Fixed Term Appointment for 3 years; including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need.

Grade and Salary, Grade 14 Monthly basic salary $ 1,490.30. Other benefits: Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.4% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
