UNDP India is working to support various ministries, donors, partners, projects and state teams on a range of
workstreams across SDG and innovative financing. This includes work on climate financing, public financing,
inclusive insurance, budgeting and innovative financing instruments. In order to ensure effective and timely
management of these engagements, UNDP India is looking for a Finance & Administrative Associate for its SDG Finance team.
The incumbent will provide overall functional support for managing finance and admin related work. The Finance & Admin Associate will support the Advisor, SDG Finance and the team in ensuring timely and efficient financial management and administrative processes.
S/he will be based at UNDP, New Delhi and shall work under the guidance and supervision of the Advisor/ Head of SDG Finance. As this is a full-time position, s/he cannot hold any other job/assignments during this assignment.
 

Duties and Responsibilities
 

Financial Management
 Preparation of expenditure reports, budgets, Annual Work Plans (AWPs), revisions and projections for
various SDG Finance projects
 Preparation of the financial reports for donors, UNDP and Government as per the requirement.
 Process timely payments of vendors, travel and other claims of staff.
 Coordinate with vendors and UNDP finance team for timely payment.
 Assist in preparation of legal documents for contracting and procurement of goods and services, including
maintenance and physical verification of assets.

Facilitate financial audits and process annual, half yearly and quarterly financial progress Reports.
 Filling and documentation of important papers and documents.

General Administration
 Provide administrative and operational support at the central/national level.
 Draft letters, invitations, meeting agenda and meeting minutes and make travel arrangements as needed.
 Organize logistics for meetings/workshops/ events.
 Assist in collation and compilation of data and information from the concerned implementing partners.
 Facilitate in preparing and monitoring contracts, follow ups with the contractors/consultants
Maintaining project documents, inventory, correspondence and communications.

Required Skills and Experience

Education: High School OR Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
Experience:

Experience: 6 years (post High School) OR 3 years (post Bachelors) of relevant experience in financial management and general administration or programme support service is essential

Any additional relevant work experience will be highly desirable

Experience of working with the UN and/or international organizations is desirable

Excellent working knowledge of MS Office-Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Intra-Internet, e- mail applications etc. Knowledge of other applications such as Front Page, Publisher and some multimedia tools would be useful.

Understands the main processes and methods of work regarding to the position

Possesses basic knowledge of organizational policies and procedures relating to the position and applies them consistently in worktasks

Strives to keep job knowledge up to date through self-directed study and other means of learning

Demonstrates good knowledge of information technology and applies it in work assignments

Good oral and written skills in English

Remuneration

Remuneration starting at INR (Annual) 9,38,400 / 78,200 INR (Monthly) as per the scale depending on qualifications and experience. The remuneration is excluding 8.33% pension amount paid over and above the salary.
