Context

The Digital Supply Chain Initiative (DSCI) is a ‘strategy umbrella’ of the many activities and projects that Supply Division is undertaking to improve our global supply chain ranging from process simplification, data driven decision making and digital tools to support business processes. With guidance and support provided by the Digital Applications Manager, and in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, the Project Analyst manages the Application Development Life-cycle (ADL) of integrated cloud-based solutions to support Supply Division’s (SD) DSCI. The selected candidate will contribute to business requirements gathering, identifying, and documenting functional and non-functional requirements, whilst working with software vendors across the globe to deliver these digital solutions. The Project Analyst will also participate in the project management of the digital application portfolio and provide monitoring oversight of these solutions against project milestones. The Project Analyst will be involved in multiple cross-cutting projects simultaneously. The digital applications are around collaboration, knowledge management, supply chain monitoring & reporting, external workflow to support SD Operations and application of appropriate technology toward innovative initiatives.

Task description

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Digital Applications Manager or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV will: • Provide project management of the development of digital applications for supply division (SD) portfolio. • Conduct business requirements gathering with business owners. • Document functional and non-functional requirements. • Monitor solutions through to delivery and through to the support phase. • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities: • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; • Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities. • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers; • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible. Results/expected outputs: • As an active UNICEF team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to UNICEF and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: Timely development and deployment of digital applications, with associated project documentation and with consideration to the appropriate support model for a particular solution. A good working relationship with other team members and adds value to UNICEFs mission. • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed.
