Mission and objectives

Social inclusion of all children is at the core of UNICEF’s mandate in Romania. To accomplish this, we, along with our partners, central and local authorities and NGOs, developed two models: The Minimum Package of Services for vulnerable children and their families; and the Quality Inclusive Education Package. These models focus on preventing unnecessary separation of children from their families, poverty, early pregnancies, illness, discrimination, absenteeism and school dropouts. They are now ready to be scaled-up nationwide, with national or European funding. Through Communication for Social Change campaigns we are also working on preventing discrimination and violence against children and empowering parents, caregivers and legal guardians, to provide a protective, stimulating environment for every child. UNICEF is also mobilizing resources from private individuals, private sector companies and foundations to support children in Romania and beyond.

Context

With this task, UNICEF Romania is aiming to reach out to the Ukrainian community in Romania and get their opinions, feedback and needs on subjects of interest and also increase the awareness of its online channels such as Social Media, UNICEF in Romania’s website.

Task description

UNICEF Romania is looking for support of online volunteers to engage with Ukrainian refugees in Romania on different platforms, such as: Facebook, Instagram, Telegram and disseminate the information materials produced by UNICEF. Also, the volunteers will have an active role in helping with small translations of comments from the Social Media platforms, of posts or ads or of short texts for the Ukrainian version of the website. Each online volunteer will be assigned one or two Social Media platforms on which he/she will be engaging with users and the content development project will be sent to both volunteers and will be discussed with UNICEF focal point.
