Context

Delivery of UNDRR ROECA’s work has been supported by funding through USAID BHA since 2021. The Online Volunteer will support by designing a 2-page flyer (PDF) and PowerPoint presentation of the key results of the USAID-funded project’s results over the 2021-2023 period. The Online Volunteer will design the flyer and ensure it is visually appealing, high-quality, and conforms to UNDRR, as well as USAID, visibility guidelines. The selected Online Volunteer will gain knowledge and experience in communicating project results through visual concepts and designs, coupled with simple narrative text, using computer software.

Task description

UNDRR ROECA is looking for one Online Volunteer to lead the design and layout of a 2-page flyer (A4 - in PDF format) and PowerPoint (PPT - landscape) presentation to showcase the results of a USAID-funded project over the period 2021-2023. The contents of the 2-page flyer and PPT will be similar but adapted to the different layouts (horizontal A4 / landscape PPT). The selected candidate will report to the Program Management Officer and work closely with colleagues in the communications and external relations team in developing the flyer. The design/layout should follow UNDRR's corporate design guidelines, as well as visibility guidelines of the donor, which will be shared with the Online Volunteers in advance. The project results and draft narrative will also be shared in advance, along with other similar project results flyers. The selected online volunteer is expected to: • Design (layouts, graphics, and narrative) of a 2-page results flyer (A4 - PDF) and PowerPoint (landscape - PPT) • Ensure all designs are visually appealing, high-quality, and meet relevant visibility guidelines. • Work closely with relevant counterparts in UNDRR to ensure consistency and accuracy of messaging. • Maintain confidentiality in handling any of the information given.
