Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager and the direct supervision of the Administration Officer, the HR Assistant provides leadership in execution of the full range of OHCHR HR services ensuring their transparency and integrity. The HR Assistant promotes a collaborative, client-oriented approach and promotes consistent with rules and regulations approach in Office.

The HR Assistant can supervise and lead temporary support staff on HR matters of the Administration Unit. The HR Associate works in close collaboration with the operations, programme and project teams in the CO, UNDP Human Resources and OHCHR HQs staff for resolving complex HR-related issues and to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.

Required Skills and Experience

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Secondary Education with specialized certification in HR, University Degree in HR, Business or Public Administration would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.
Experience:
  • 6 years of progressively responsible HR and/or administrative experience is required at the national or international level. 
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and experience in handling of web based management systems.

Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
