Manager of Shareholder Relations and Governance
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was created to help foster social and economic development, create wealth, and improve infrastructure connectivity in Asia by investing in sustainable infrastructure and other productive sectors. As a new addition to the global multilateral development bank (MDB) family, AIIB works closely with other multilateral and bilateral institutions as well as the private sector to improve infrastructure by promoting regional cooperation and partnerships. AIIB has 106 members, it has an authorized capital of USD100 billion, of which USD20 billion is paid in, and it is a triple-A-rated institution.
The Corporate Secretary Vice Presidency (SEC), headed by the Vice President and Corporate Secretary (VPCS), is mandated to manage shareholder relations, and facilitate formal and informal relations with shareholders, the Board of Governors and the Board of Directors with the Bank’s Management, in line with relevant rules and procedures. It is also responsible for the integrity of the Bank’s governance.
Manager of Shareholder Relations and Governance
The Corporate Secretary Vice Presidency seeks a Manager of Shareholder Relations and Governance who reports directly to the Assistant Corporate Secretary. The successful candidate will: (1) manage operation of Board of Governors and membership processes; (2) organize and manage protocol and events for shareholder and board engagement and annual meetings of Board of Governors; (3) lead the planning and intelligence work for member engagement; (4) others to be assigned.
Responsibilities:
Manage the operation of Board of Governors, including:
- Act as the lead for VPCS’s engagement and communication with both internal and external stakeholders and ensure smooth information sharing and work flows and efficient follow up actions as needed.
- Plan, organize and coordinate for VPCS’s strategic engagement activities with various stakeholders.
- Monitor and facilitate the development and execution of departmental business plan to ensure the timely delivery of the business objectives within timelines and budget, for VPCS.
- Lead and facilitate the work processes, management meeting records and follow up actions, as well as business continuity of all functions under VPCS.
- Lead the efforts for the preparation of briefing notes, presentations, data analyses, and other materials as needed by VPCS.
- Contribute to/coordinate departmental strategies/papers/notes.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in economics, finance, political science, public administration, international relations or a related field.
- At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in relevant international or national organizations or in the multilateral governance area. PhD studies count toward this requirement.
- Direct or relevant working experience in business management, economics, or international relations.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities required to build working relationships across teams; excellent.
- Self-driven and proactive individual with initiative.
- Ability to adapt and play different roles based on business needs to keep several business initiatives moving forward.
- Strong team spirit and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate in a clear and succinct style, excellent English speaking and writing capabilities.
