Mission and objectives
As the United Nations lead agency on international development, UNDP works in 170 countries and territories to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. We help countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, and to build resilience to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Our work is concentrated in three focus areas; sustainable development, democratic governance and peace building, and climate and disaster resilience.
Context
The IRH Partnerships Team produces a weekly overview of updates on the international development landscape, which is shared with UNDP colleagues in the ECIS region. The small core team manages the production of this resource and is seeking assistance with news monitoring. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can bring their knowledge, ideas and skills to support this effort. The volunteer will have an opportunity to get a more profound knowledge of the development finance landscape globally and in the ECIS region, trends in Official development assistance (ODA) and policies of donor governments. Moreover, the assignment will help the volunteer hone the skills of writing concise news reports for an international organization.
Task description
The volunteer will assist the Partnerships Team’s work through research and regular monitoring of news, events, and emerging trends in the international development landscape and finance in the ECIS region and beyond. Under the guidance of team members, the volunteer is expected to submit a brief overview of relevant updates on a weekly basis.
