About the project:
 
‘Comprehensive support to urban refugees and asylum seekers primarily in Rajasthan’ is implemented by Development and Justice Initiative, New Delhi, in partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). It aims to strengthen refugees’ access to health and education services and avenues for livelihoods.
 
About the organisation: Development and Justice Initiative (DAJI) works with marginalized, displaced and disenfranchised communities to empower them to access rights, services and protect their freedoms. We work with refugees, minority communities, displaced people and people at risk of statelessness through community mobilization, education, training and providing humanitarian support to the communities in times of need. We conduct research and network with other organisations aimed at strengthening advocacy.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Work with the authorities to ensure the inclusion of Refugees in different policies specifically related to health, education, and livelihood.
  • Monitoring, assessment, and documentation for the all the thematic areas like registration, access to health and education services etc.
  • Planning for the implementation of the project in Jaipur in coordination with the respective project managers.
  • Attending partner meetings and responding to the different focal points.
  • Documenting and reporting on the performance and results achieved.
  • Organise review meetings and preparing minutes of the meeting. Prepare action take reports on the minutes of the meetings.
  • Prepare narrative reports on a weekly/ monthly basis in Word and Excel sheets.
  • Organize home visits and community meetings to assess obstacles the community faces to access government health, early childcare, and education services and find solutions collectively.
  • Work closely with children from the community, identify and train men and women volunteers for increasing children’s access to early childcare and elementary education.
  • Communicate information about government services to the refugees in such a way as to help them access services.
  • Identify vulnerable persons in the community; assess and document their needs.
  • Coordination with livelihood stakeholders.
  • Organize activities that promote peaceful co-existence between the refugees and host community.
  • Supervise the management of accounts and admin relating to the project.
  • Conduct training including on prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, gender-based violence, Child protection and prevention of child marriage etc.
