In 2014, RTI International established RTI International India (RTI India), wholly owned subsidiary, as a testament to the strategic importance that India holds with regards to the global development agenda.

RTI is now conducting a research project focused on Electric Vehicle component value chain, with a focus on heavy vehicles such as e-buses and trucks.

RTI is seeking an EV software expert to conduct market assessment of EV software systems in India and support related research and analysis.

Scope: Activities required to be undertaken are detailed below:

Map the existing state of play related to EV software systems (Base software, embedded software, firmware, others that may not be covered by other studies)
Map current market players providing these software systems in India.
Assess local capacities to develop and provide these software systems. Create a RAG matrix mapped to the EV software systems capabilities in India.
Support desk research and stakeholder interviews for state of play assessment
Connect with key EV software solution providers, lead discussions with them to understand emerging trends, capabilities in software development, gaps, and modes of collaboration among players in the industry.
Support in assessing the potential demand for these software systems in the Indian market.
Identify the challenges and opportunities in the Indian market for the development and provision of these software
Support in assessing the current size of investments in EV software systems
Map barriers in EV software and develop roadmap to address these barriers.
Support development of future forecast on growth and development of EV software industry in India.
Provide inputs and develop sections of the report related to EV software including roadmap.
Any other task that may be assigned on EV software market mapping.

Qualifications: At-least a B tech degree in mechanical/IT/ ECE or a Masters in IT or closely related fields is required. Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: 10-15 years of experience working in automobile software development sector with strong understanding of electric vehicle software development issues is required. Mid-career/ senior experts preferred.

Skills and Aptitude: Self-starter, ability to work independently, collaborative style and knowledge of MS office.

Language: Ability to communicate in English is required.

Location: N. Delhi (preferred)

Duration: July 1, 2023 onwards for a period of 6-9 months.

Level of Effort: Part time

Travel: To automobile hubs in India such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra will be required for short duration.
