The Jobholder will report directly to the Head of Unit Public Health Functions and will further develop the activities of the Centre related to public health training in the area of communicable diseases and coordinate their implementation, in close collaboration with other colleagues in the unit and ECDC at large. He/she will be responsible in particular for the following areas of work: • Manage the Public Health Training Section by creating a strong team with a service-oriented spirit and promoting a learning culture; • Ensure that the section’s work planning, management of human and financial resources including performance management are carried out efficiently and effectively; • Further develop and implement the ECDC strategic direction for training including the ECDC Fellowship Programme (EPIET/EUPHEM), the Mediterranean and Black Sea Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training (MediPIET), the ECDC Continuous Professional Development Programme (CPDP), the ECDC4AfricaCDC project and the ECDC Virtual Academy (EVA), in alignment with the evolving needs and requirements of the Member States, the Commission and other relevant stakeholders.
