General Ledger Accountant

Accountabilities & Functional Responsibilities

The Accounting Analyst works with a team under the Finance Shared Services, that primarily

• Participates and contribute to monthly and year-end closing process for the General Ledger module
• Performs and document controls as described in the closing checklist and indicated in the closing calendar
• Performs monthly, quarterly or bi-annual financial reports as part of the service delivery
• Ventilates actual expenses using analytical dimensions 
• Provides explanation or support on general ledger-related accounting inquiries
• Implements and ensure respect of financial procedures and guidelines
• Performs other related duties as assigned and in support to the team's overall tasks

Required Profile

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Have at least two (2) years working experience in general accounting 
• Good understanding of financial and analytical accounting
• Experience with JD Edwards / Peoplesoft is an asset
• Experience with Process Design and Analysis 
• Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) is an asset
• Technically proficient in using Microsoft Office softwares – e.g. Excel, Word
• Good command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of the French language is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills 
• Strong planning and organizational skills
