Mission and objectives

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN organization that supports human development globally by promoting volunteerism and by mobilizing volunteers. It is administered by UNDP and operates amidst growing recognition that volunteerism makes important contributions, economically and socially, to more cohesive societies by building trust and reciprocity among citizens.UNV Regional Office for the Arab States (ROAS) provides oversight and strategic guidance to the UNV Field Units in their respective geographical assignments and is mainly accountable for the placement of UN Volunteers mobilized for UN Agencies, Funds, and Programmes focused on peace, development and humanitarian needs. Furthermore, ROAS represents and strategically positions UNV in the region, bringing UNV’s services and solutions closer to its partners from governments, UN entities, civil society, and the private sector. The Regional Office also leads to scoping and delivering UNV’s advisory service offer on volunteer infrastructure.

Context

UNV Lebanon is preparing for several upcoming events aimed at promoting volunteerism in the country. These events, including the executive mission to Lebanon in November and International Volunteer Day in December, require a key promotional tool - a visually appealing photo booklet. This 12-page booklet will feature the incredible contributions of 24 UN Volunteers working with various UN entities in Lebanon. It will serve as an inspiration to individuals to volunteer and encourage UN entities to recruit more volunteers

Task description

UNV Lebanon seeks the support of a 2 professional online volunteers to design an engaging layout for the 12-page photo booklet. The volunteer's tasks will include: 1. Creating a professional and captivating layout for the 12-page photo booklet. 2. Designing an eye-catching front and back cover that effectively conveys the mission and spirit of UN Volunteers. 3. Showcasing 24 UN Volunteers serving with various UN partners in Lebanon. The photos and narratives (text) will be provided by UNV in advance. 4. Delivering the final outputs in both print-ready (PDF) and editable formats. 5. Adhering to the UNV brand guidelines will be shared with the volunteer in advance. Upon completion of the assignment, the online volunteers will receive: a certificate of appreciation and acknowledgment on the back cover of the booklet.
