Location - Bandipora and Baramulla (Jammu & Kashmir)
Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) is a not-for-profit development organization which was established in 1961 to support development Programmes across India especially to the vulnerable communities and grass root community-based organisations. IGSSS vision is of establishing a humane social order based on the tenets of equity, liberty, and justice in which the human rights and dignity of every individual is upheld.
Role Profile
Lead the project team in implementation of innovative, and climate smart livelihood strategies.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the long-term and short-term marketing strategies of producer groups based in rural areas and facilitate building of trade relationships between the small producers and the external market.
- Ensure effective implementation of the planned and approved activities and strategies at the sites on time for the target communities.
- Facilitate formation and business planning of producer groups.
- Design and manage the marketing strategy for agricultural produce and handicrafts.
- Conceptualize and execute the integrated marketing campaign to achieve the brand & business goals of producer groups.
- Develop critical supply chain and marketing linkages for agricultural, dairy products and handicrafts.
- Develop market intermediary model of social enterprise for artisans and farmers.
- Plan the project expenses by realistically assessing the expected costs for timely executing the project activities and just utilization of funds.
- Ensure proper and just utilization of allocated budget by keeping track of project activities and adhering with the organizational norms to avoid any misappropriation in utilization of fund.
- Keep budget track, ensuring the timely fund requests and approval notes for smooth functioning of project.
- Develop relationship with the government and other agencies through regular interactions to tap the available resources and visibility of actions.
- Networking with the other NGOs, agencies, individuals by sharing information and knowledge to bring synergy and visibility in the work for achieving the larger project goal.
- Contribute towards creating a knowledge base by process documenting all the activities and to highlight the major achievements and challenges of the project.
- Documentation of significant case studies and events of the project by tracking the changes during the course of project to highlight the achievements of the project.
Core Competencies Required
- Ability to research markets, examine trends and execute quickly.
- Ability to drive teams and work in a matrix environment.
- Have good communication skills and should be capable of eventually embracing a multitude of potential roles.
- Having knowledge and understanding of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
- Ability to plan and implement the project within the provided timelines and according to organizational goal.
- Skills in effectively communicating organizational vision and mission as well as project rationale and objectives to other stakeholders for networking and linkage building.
- Ability in writing project reports and process reports for documentation of project processes in accordance to organizational and organizational norms.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office for management of project data and report writing in approved formats.
Qualifications and experience
MBA from a reputed university/institution preferably in Craft Management & Entrepreneurship with around 5-7 years of work experience across enterprise development, sales, and marketing and at least 2 years of work experience with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises
The above position is on fixed term contract.
