Coordination Support for Global Diaspora Confederation in IT services
Mission and objectives
The Global Diaspora Confederation (GDC) is the umbrella-led civil society organization to connect and empower Diaspora Organizations across the world working towards a world of unity, peace and advancement. We help unify, support, develop and promote Diaspora Organizations across the world through linking with all groups interested in diaspora communities. We aim to be an influential system leader for global diasporas’ interests and to establish, pioneer, and be the authentic voice of a worldwide sector alliance of Diaspora Organizations. We empower Diaspora Organizations to continually create sustainable, collaborative and positive impacts for their communities and societies.
Responsible for providing the most effective IT solutions for all volunteers and the GDC as a whole. Providing direct support to users in their migration to Office 365 by analyzing the End User Application functionality, providing guidance on the most effective migration path so that the impact on users is minimized, and providing post-migration support as necessary.
Task Description: Online Volunteer 1 (OV1) Responsibilities: • Migration to Office 365 Support: • Analyze End User Application functionality. • Provide guidance on the most effective migration path. • Offer direct support to users during the migration process. • Provide post-migration support as necessary. • GDC Website Maintenance: • Assist the IT Team in updating and maintaining the GDC website. Online Volunteer 2 (OV2) Responsibilities: • Technical Guidance and Support: • Provide technical advice, services, technologies, and recommendations. • Address moderately complex situations and issues related to networks and connectivity for GDC staff. • Cybersecurity and Network Architecture: • Assist in cybersecurity measures. • Contribute to network architecture planning and maintenance. Online Volunteer 3 (OV3) Responsibilities: • Data Management and Systems Administration: • Oversee data management processes. • Assist in systems administration tasks. • Policy Planning and Compliance: • Ensure continuity in operations. • Apply information management/information security/cybersecurity policies rigorously. Online Volunteer 4 (OV4) Responsibilities: • Documentation and Reporting: • Review, prepare, and coordinate technical correspondence, reports, memoranda, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to assigned technical areas (between 1 and 2 weekly). • Technology Proposals: • Propose new technologies and innovative ways to operate GDC’s virtual environment more effectively. Online Volunteer 5 (OV5) Responsibilities: • Inventory Database Management: • Write, update, and follow operating procedures to ensure accuracy of all inventory databases. • Support for Secretariat, Vendors, and Advisors: • Provide support to the secretariat team, and advisors as needed.
