About the Prize

The Food Planet Prize awards visionaries who solve the dilemma of feeding a growing world population while saving a planet in peril. With a Prize sum of $2 million, it’s the world’s biggest environmental award. Meet the deserving winners 

Unlike traditional awards, the Food Planet Prize supports initiatives that can change the world, rather than those that already have, and gives them resources to scale rapidly. It welcomes solutions from all over the world as long as they can help humanity shift to sustainable food systems within this decade. Not only that, anyone can apply or nominate—all year round. The Prize is handed out by the Curt Bergfors Foundation. Established in 2019, its mission is to fast-track the imperative shift towards sustainable food systems by providing potential food planet game changers with the means they need to succeed.
