European Personnel Selection Office’s (EPSO) role is to serve the EU Institutions by providing high quality, efficient and effective selection procedures that enable them to recruit the right person, for the right job, at the right time.
EPSO was created on 26th July 2002 and became operational as of 1st January 2003. EPSO is responsible for selecting staff to work for the Institutions and Agencies of the European Union including the European Parliament, the Council, the European Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the European External Action Service, the Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions, the European Data Protection Supervisor and the European Ombudsman. Each Institution is then able to recruit staff from among the pool of candidates selected by EPSO.
To apply for a job with the EU you must in most cases be a national of one of the 28 member state of the EU. However some Institutions (i.e. EIB) also allow nationals of supporting countries to work within the institution. The following countries are member states of the EU:
