The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) supports citizens’ rights to participate in free and fair elections. IFES’ independent expertise strengthens electoral systems and builds local capacity to deliver sustainable solutions.

Internships and Fellowships
IFES recognizes that the world's future leaders in democracy and governance are currently in training. IFES works with a large network of universities to provide year-round paid and unpaid internships. All internship opportunities are listed on our careers page.IFES’ Center for Applied Research and Learning provides three fellowships (Humphrey, Manatt, and Hybl). These fellowships provide a unique opportunity for students to do additional research and study democracy and governance themes.
