Impactpool has been running Virtual Career Fairs for the past 3 years targeting different demographics. The Virtual Career Fair for Senior Women Professionals has been our flagship event and we are very proud to share that this year's Senior Women event (2022) was our biggest and most successful thus far with 13 International Organizations participating and more than 2000 participant requests.

Given that some could not join due to a large number of interested candidates, or maybe you did not meet the minimum requirements, we have compiled a few takeaways from the live sessions from the majority of the participating Organizations.

Find takeaways from:

ICRC - International Committee of the Red Cross - Recruitment process

IOM - International Organization for Migration - Degree choices

UNHCR - United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees - Languages, Targeted Profiles, Most Recruited Profiles in 2022, Private Sector Profiles and more

UNDP - United Nations Development Programme -

UNESCO - United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - Video Recording

WFP - World Food Programme - Career Routes, Profiles they source, Application Tips and more..

ICRC - International Committee of the Red Cross

Below is the ICRC recruitment process where they share the different steps taken to hire a new staff member. They differentiate between Mobile (International Staff) and Resident (Local Staff).

An important highlight they have made is that they never take sides in a conflict and only offer assistance on a needs basis.

You will not know where you will be deployed until after receiving the official mission proposal/ selection. An advice if you are currently employed, is that you do not resign from your role before finding out the location and if you will accept the offer.

Given ICRC’s global offices, language is one of the requirements when it comes to who they hire. They highlighted English, French, Russian, Arabic and Spanish. We will share more about languages as this has been a recurring part of all the Organization's presentations.
